Striking 1970s original oil painting on plywood by Barbara Conger, featuring a highly expressive abstract composition with surrealist and biomorphic influences. The work is filled with fluid, intertwined forms and intriguing figurative elements rendered in layered shades of green, cream, blue, ochre, and earthy tones. The complex composition creates a dreamlike, almost psychedelic quality characteristic of experimental art of the period.
Signed “Barbara Conger” near the lower portion of the composition. Presented in its vintage frame with a linen-textured liner and subtle gilt accents. A distinctive statement piece well suited for a Mid-Century Modern, eclectic, bohemian, or contemporary interior.
