An elegant two-part display cabinet, 19th century.
The upper section opens with two glass doors
The lower section features two solid doors and two drawers.
The front is veneered in rich burl with a highly decorative grain. The upper section
is fitted with several adjustable and removable shelves.
All the shelves are original, with the mahogany front; half-shelves are also
inserted for narrower items.
The lower section offers a compartmentalized unit, including a locker-style arrangement,
providing additional storage.
The lighter interior contrasts pleasantly with the rich exterior veneer and is made of solid oak.
The upper cornice, the projecting rounded uprights, and the turned feet lend the piece a particularly elegant decorative presence. The cabinetry and veneer are of fine quality, with remarkable burl and briar work.
An unusual, high-quality piece of furniture, ideal for a period home.
