Exceptional pair of Italian Neoclassical bronze Grand Tour urns, each raised on a circular black marble base. The classical amphora forms feature elaborate scrolled handles, beaded rims, and finely detailed relief decoration depicting classical figures in scenes of daily life. The necks are embellished with medallions, foliate scrollwork, and classical ornament, while the reverse features an intricate symmetrical foliate design.
The urns retain a rich dark green-brown patina with lighter highlights that emphasize the relief work. The combination of classical figural decoration, elaborate handles, and marble bases is characteristic of the Grand Tour tradition of the 19th century, when small-scale antiquities and Neoclassical objects were produced for travelers and collectors.
