An exceptional and rare pair of monumental, mid-century Italian Hollywood Regency style table lamps designed by the celebrated Italian ceramist Domenico Poloniato (1926–2013).
Standing at an impressive 36.5 inches high, these striking statement pieces are beautifully crafted from hand-painted, vibrantly glazed Italian majolica.
The figures show extraordinary detail and theatrical flair, channeling the mid-20th-century exoticism.
One sculpture depicts a seated nobleman in traditional dress cradling a bird,
while the other captures a kneeling noblewoman holding a folding fan.

Both are perched on beautifully sculpted, tassel-adorned cushion plinths that flow into integrated faux-wood bases.
Known for their vivid palette and high-gloss finishes, Poloniato’s works are highly prized by collectors of Italian art pottery and Chinoiserie design. Signed "D. Poloniato" and stamped "Made in Italy" on the reverse.
I noticed one small restoration to the hand of the male figure.
Very good vintage condition., consistent with age and use.
