Constructed in solid pine, the piece features a large molded cornice, two paneled doors, two lower drawers and a scalloped apron.

The interior offers generous storage with a full-width upper shelf and additional open compartments below. The back retains its wonderfully primitive wide-board construction, further adding to the character of this very old piece.

The original-style key is present and operates the lock well. An interior latch secures the secondary door and is functional, although it can be a little tricky to reach and release due to its placement.

This is a genuinely old, solid and extremely heavy piece with the knocks, marks, old holes, surface variations, separations and imperfections expected from well over a century of age and use. The upper trim on the right front-facing side has undergone an old repair, as photographed.

Its beautifully mellowed pine surface has been intentionally preserved rather than overly restored. A wonderful statement storage piece with the scale and presence to work as a wardrobe, linen cupboard, pantry cabinet or oversized storage cabinet.
