Striking vintage clear glass pedestal vase featuring a tall, architectural form with broad vertical optic panels, a softly scalloped rim, and an elegant circular foot.
The substantial glass body has wonderful optical movement, with the vertical ribs creating shifting reflections and refractions as the vase is viewed from different angles. A short clear glass stem connects the elongated vessel to its broad, beautifully proportioned pedestal base.
With its restrained ornamentation, sculptural silhouette, and emphasis on form and light, the vase has a distinctly Scandinavian Modern aesthetic. The maker and country of origin are unknown, and the piece is unsigned.
Beautiful displayed on its own as a sculptural glass object, or filled with tall branches or flowers. Its generous 12.5-inch height gives it excellent presence on a console, dining table, mantel, or display cabinet.
