Hand-thrown in stoneware, the compact vessel has a rounded body rising to a narrow neck, with the subtle irregularities and tactile surface characteristic of Bringle's functional studio pottery.

Bringle is one of the important figures in American studio ceramics and has worked from her studio in Penland, North Carolina, for decades. Her pottery is known for its strong relationship between form, surface and everyday function.

Signed “Bringle” on the underside.

A wonderful small-scale example of Bringle's work—equally appealing as a bud vase or displayed simply as a piece of American studio pottery.
