This is a fun pair of 1980s art deco revival tub chairs that is ready for reupholstery. The chairs are distinguished by the whimsical neoclassical design created by scrolled welting on the arms and pleating on the backs and sides to mimic fluted Ionic columns.
The chairs are unsigned but are similar in style and construction to Thayer Coggins' postmodern seating designs. Jonathan Adler's Acropolis Club Chair (which retails $1,850 each) is a modern interpretation of this chair.
The circa 1980s tub chairs are in fair vintage condition. They are sturdy and well constructed with supportive springs and padding. The fabric is torn and stained, so the chairs need to be reupholstered. Please see photos for more details about the condition of the chairs.
Each chair measures 28" tall, 27.5" wide, and 26" deep with a 17.5" seat height and 23.75" arm height.
