The classic blue-and-white palette is topped by a wide flared rim and molded banding, giving the vessel wonderful architectural presence.

The decoration features flowering branches surrounding hand-painted figural scenes, creating an example of traditional Chinese blue-and-white porcelain. The slightly irregular hand-finished character ( note the striations on the interior) of the vessel and naturally aged unmarked foot are consistent with an older piece, likely dating to the late Qing or early Republic period, circa 1890–1930.

Presented on a handsome carved Asian hardwood display stand with scrolling legs. The stand is included and beautifully elevates the jardinière for display; it is not represented as original to the porcelain.

A striking decorative piece displayed empty, planted with an orchid, or used as a cachepot. Particularly well suited to Chinoiserie, Grandmillennial, traditional, English country and collected interiors. See less
