Executed in richly figured jacaranda (Brazilian rosewood) veneer over a solid wood structure with steel elements, the cabinet exemplifies the restrained geometry and material intelligence that define de Barros’ mature work.
The deep, satin-matte finish highlights the natural movement and tonal variation of the rosewood veneer, while recessed circular pulls and locking drawers reinforce its clean, graphic presence. Each cabinet features four standard drawers and two spacious file compartments, offering substantial storage without visual heaviness. Keys are included.
Designed with modular flexibility in mind, the cabinets function beautifully as individual units or as a powerful symmetrical pair. They are sold individually.
Recently, these cabinets were rented for Highest 2 Lowest, the latest feature film starring Denzel Washington and directed by Spike Lee, underscoring their enduring cultural relevance and cinematic presence.
Meticulously refinished while preserving honest signs of age, this piece represents a rare opportunity to acquire museum-caliber Brazilian modern design suitable for executive offices, private studies, or architecturally rigorous interiors. See less
