This pair of Brazilian modern table lamps from the 1960s distills industrial precision into a striking sculptural form. Each lamp features a spherical, spotlight-inspired shade mounted on a slender vertical stem and anchored by a substantial circular base.
The disciplined composition emphasizes geometry, proportion, and mechanical clarity. The adjustable shades allow the light to be directed while creating a dynamic dialogue between the two lamps.
Visible pivoting hardware and articulated fittings reinforce their machine-age character, while the mirrored chrome transforms the spherical heads into reflective volumes that capture the surrounding architecture and light. Tall, attenuated stems give the lamps an elegant vertical presence, balanced by the visual weight of their low cylindrical bases. Black braided fabric cords introduce a subtle textural contrast to the polished metal and complement the design’s vintage industrial vocabulary.
Recently re-chromed, the lamps present with renewed brilliance while preserving the integrity of their original form. Both functional and sculptural, the pair offers focused illumination with a warm ambient glow—an expressive example of Brazilian mid-century modern lighting shaped by geometric restraint and industrial refinement.
