Four broad sections of imbuia form the top around a central opening designed to hold a vase, allowing an arrangement to rise from the middle of the table while leaving the surrounding surfaces free for everyday use.
Below, open shelves provide generous space for books, ceramics, and sculptural objects. Their different orientations make the table engaging from every side, while the low profile keeps the composition grounded in a seating area. The imbuia moves from deep brown to warm amber, with expressive grain and gentle signs of age that bring variation to its clean geometric form.
Casa Finland was a small woodworking workshop based in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, active during the 1960s and 1970s. This table reflects the period’s interest in native woods and useful, carefully considered design: a coffee table that serves as both a display piece and the center of a room. See less
