An Italian ‘Area Curvea’ table lamp by Mario Bellini from the 1970s. Defined by its sweeping, continuous arc, the design traces a fluid line from a weighted cylindrical base into a slender, curved stem that cantilevers outward with poised tension.
The adjustable head gently clips a softly draped resin shade, delicately folded like a flowing fabric, diffuses light in a soft, ambient glow, enhancing its poetic presence.
Mario Bellini is a celebrated Italian architect and designer known for his fluid, sculptural approach to form. While he is best known for his work with brands like Cassina, B&B Italia, and Olivetti, Bellini also collaborated with Artemide, a company renowned for pushing the boundaries of lighting design. His designs often merge organic shapes with technological innovation, which aligns with Artemide’s ethos.
