Across the body, hand-tooled dotted spirals create a subtle rhythm, while a bird motif stretches across the center in low relief, its incised linework filled with dark pigment to sharpen the contrast against the warm wood beneath. The imagery feels graphic rather than overly decorative, integrated directly into the curve of the form.

The lamp carries the warmth and intimacy often associated with smaller French decorative objects from the period. When illuminated, the glow draws attention to the carved surface and movement of the hand-worked details, though the piece holds just as much presence unlit through silhouette alone.

Condition: Good vintage condition overall with surface wear throughout, consistent with age. This lamp has been professionally rewired by our in-house team of restorationists with a new socket, plug and switch. Accepts two E12 candelabra base light bulbs. See less
