The surface is composed in a geometric patchwork of maple, each section carefully arranged to create shifts in grain, tone, and direction. The result is subtle but deliberate—light catching differently across the pattern, giving the top a quiet movement that reveals itself over time. It becomes the central gesture of the piece.

The base is restrained by comparison. A linear case rests on four square legs, while curved stretchers below introduce a measured softness—arched forms that connect the structure and temper the rigidity of the frame. Two central supports, accented with pale cylindrical elements, add a vertical rhythm beneath the top, reinforcing the balance between line and curve.

Proportioned with intention, the desk feels grounded without heaviness. The warmth of the maple carries throughout, allowing the parquetry to remain the focal point.

Condition: Great vintage condition. This piece has undergone a full refinish by our in-house team of restorationists, preserving its original character. Minor wood splits and light surface wear remain, consistent with age, and do not impact structural stability. See less
