Rendered in an earthy, subdued palette, the composition centers on a cluster of rustic buildings set against a deep, moody sky. Ochres and muted greens shape the land, while hints of red along the rooftops bring warmth and structure. The scene feels both grounded and slightly abstracted—more an impression of place than a literal depiction.

The brushwork is thick and expressive, with areas that feel almost palette-knife-like in their application. Layers of impasto catch the light across the surface, and directional strokes give the landscape a gentle movement, as though the terrain itself is shifting under changing weather.

Set within a softly distressed frame that echoes the tones of the painting, the piece carries an understated presence. Unsigned, yet confident in its execution, it reflects the character of mid-century landscape studies—intimate, textural, and quietly evocative.

Condition: Great vintage condition, with areas of wear and finish loss to the frame. There is no hanging hardware present along the reverse. See less
