Striking coordinating pair of substantial vintage six-light candelabra in an elaborate Rococo Revival style. The two candelabra are closely related in scale, finish and decorative vocabulary, but are not identical, with subtle differences in their branch arrangements and ornamental details.
Each candelabrum features six candle cups arranged along exuberantly scrolling branches, with richly ornamented urn-form bodies, pierced foliate detailing and elaborate pedestal bases raised on scrolling feet.
The pair retains a beautifully aged brass-toned surface with naturally developed dark patina and oxidation throughout the recessed ornament. They have intentionally been left unpolished to preserve their vintage character.
Constructed from numerous separately cast and threaded metal components, these are unusually substantial decorative pieces, weighing approximately 14.15 pounds combined. The visible decorative metal, candle cups and exposed threaded components tested non-magnetic.
