Offered for sale is a cast bronze sculpture of two figures embracing by Moshe Sternschuss (1903–1992). The sculpture is titled Pair of Lovers (sometimes listed simply as Lovers or Couple). Produced in limited numbers, Sternschuss's work is highly prized by collectors of mid-century modern and Israeli art .

Born in Galicia, Sternschuss studied at the prestigious Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem and later trained in Paris during the 1930s. He was a groundbreaking figure in the mid-century "New Horizons" (Ofakim Hadashim) movement, which shifted local art away from traditional realism toward an avant-garde, semi-abstract stylization of the human form.
