Masterfully executed on a substantial wood panel by the renowned artisan workshop Ba Ro (Firenze), this piece features an extraordinary trompe l'oeil still life that brilliantly replicates the look of traditional Florentine gemstone mosaics.

The composition centers around an ornate footed urn, painted to perfectly mimic the vivid, deep blue veins of high-grade lapis lazuli. The vessel overflows with a rich harvest of meticulously rendered fruits, including a beautifully detailed split pomegranate, a cluster of glossy cherries, and soft pears. Each element is framed by a masterful faux-marble border reminiscent of classic green veined marble, providing a dramatic contrast to the deep black background.

This hand-painted faux pietra dura plaque is a masterful showcase of the "fool-the-eye" lacquer painting techniques perfected by Florentine artisans during the mid-to-late 20th century. Unlike standard flat prints, this piece carries a wonderful visual depth and rich, saturated pigments that capture the light beautifully.

An exceptional accent piece for a Hollywood Regency, Grandmillennial, or eclectic interior, it serves as a spectacular focal point for a gallery wall, mantel display, or library shelf. See less
