This Aubusson Verdure from the early 17 hundred is different by the fact that it is a Verdure but one … Read more This Aubusson Verdure from the early 17 hundred is different by the fact that it is a Verdure but one with no animals or birds that are usually represented in order to be more realistic , but not here just nature , the play with different grass level area , the lake , the different size of trees and plants create with great success a deepness in the scene , usually a representation of a castel or mountains is used but here all is done with just the essential and it is stunning , it shows a very good artist in order to accomplish that work .Also you will find some unusual details like the zig zag on the trunk of the right hand tree that create a relief in a very modern way so is the use of green and beige , just splendid . The lighting is very natural and center in the middle that also help to create the perspective so does the position of the trees , but the very fine part also of this tapestry is the border absolutely beautiful with an army subject you will find , drums , helmet , armor , shield and more , but also a royal crown . Kings were the head of the army and would bring prosperity to the country that s why you find cornucopia next to the crowns on each corners to deliver that message . We are not without thinking too Louis XIV that was famous for his successful wars and prestige .
