The structure is entirely made of the highest quality bronze with rich chiselled decoration, covered with a finely gilded surface in technique doré. The arms branch out into the shape of volutes in square cross-section, richly decorated with acanthus leaves, floral motifs and sculpted female heads, often suggesting mythological or grotesque figures – typically popular in the louis xiv style, as evidenced by similar examples inspired by the work of andré-charles boulle. The central body resembles a decorated vase form with a pointed end element in the shape of a stylized pine cone (cul de lampe en graine), finely modelled, typical of french chandeliers of this category. The chandelier is completely electroplated – the e27 socket design allows the use of common light bulbs, making it easily adaptable to modern use. The rare preservation of small details, such as the original links of the chain with a profiled rosette, indicates excellent preservation.
