A fine pair of late twentieth century single-drawer Hepplewhite-style Pembroke tables by American furniture maker, Councill Craftsman Furniture. Crafted in North Carolina, each table exhibits a high level of craftsmanship which is evident in the figured mahogany top and leaves as well as in the detailed and intricate decorative inlay patterns.
Each Pembroke table has been crafted in the Hepplewhite-style (1790-1815) of the Federal period and features a drop-leaf top over a single, dovetailed drawer with brass pull on four square tapered legs with swing rails to support each leaf when in use.
Decorative inlays in a lighter color are present on each table in the following areas: large center inlay, banded oval table top and drawer, and decorative inlays down the front of each front table leg on each table.
