Beautiful Mid-Century Korean Celadon Globular Moon Jar Vase – Hand-Signed Myeong-seong (명성)
Up for sale is a stunning, authentic mid-to-late 20th-century Korean studio celadon jar. This piece features a classic wide, bulbous silhouette inspired by traditional Korean moon jars (dalhangari), offering a beautiful, substantial presence.
The exterior is elegantly decorated with a subtle, incised anhua (hidden decoration) motif of flying cranes (hak) and swirling clouds, symbolizing peace and longevity. The pale, translucent blue-green celadon glaze beautifully catches the light, highlighting the depth of the carved details.
The underside features a hand-painted underglaze blue signature 明成 (Myeong-seong / Myung-sung) accompanied by a matching stamped red artist seal, verifying its origin as an authentic piece of Korean studio art.
