The sculptural form has an organic, almost turtle-shell-like appearance, giving the fixture a very distinctive decorative presence. The glass is of excellent quality and is most likely murano glass or italian glass supplied for kaiser, as kaiser frequently used high-quality murano glass components for their lighting designs. The richly textured surface creates a warm, atmospheric glow when illuminated, while the clear outer glass gives the piece depth, brilliance and a refined vintage character. The fixture can be used as a wall light or ceiling flush mount, although it presents especially well as a wall sconce. It is fitted with an e26/e27 edison socket, making it practical for both european and us use with appropriate installation. The glass is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or damage. The metal parts show only light age-appropriate wear and patina. A rare and highly decorative kaiser wall light with strong 1970s character, ideal for a hallway, entryway, powder room, bedroom or as a statement accent in a mid-century modern, organic modern or hollywood regency inspired interior.
