Mogensen is one of the big names in Danish furniture design and his furniture is characterized by well-thought-out proportions, solid materials and a stripped-down form where function and beauty go hand in hand.

The chest has eight spacious drawers in three different sizes, with drawer fronts that are 9, 14 and 18.5 cm high. The small round handles are nicely recessed in the fronts and become a beautiful detail in the otherwise clean shape. The drawers are very well made, fresh and sturdy and offer plenty of practical storage.

What really gives the chest of drawers its character is the meeting of the types of wood. The warm teak fronts are framed by light oak in the frame and legs. The contrast is strikingly beautiful and typical of Scandinavian design from the period. The slender, tapered legs also give the generous piece of furniture a light and elegant expression.

Karl Andersson & Söner was responsible for the production, and here Børge Mogensen's Danish design language meets solid Swedish furniture craftsmanship - a combination that has resulted in a piece of furniture that is both beautiful and functional and feels just as relevant today.

The bureau is also wonderfully easy to place. It looks just as good in the living room or hallway as it does in the bedroom or a walk-in closet, and the combination of teak and oak makes it easy to combine with furniture in both types of wood.
