The rounded shade is mounted on a slender curved chrome-plated metal structure with a white-painted lower stem and a large circular chrome base. The shade is rotatable/adjustable, allowing the direction of the light to be modified. The combination of molded orange plastic, polished chrome and white metal is highly characteristic of European lighting design from the 1970s. The futuristic rounded form makes this lamp particularly suitable for Space Age, Mid-Century Modern, Modernist and retro interiors. When illuminated, the orange shade produces a warm atmospheric glow. Its sculptural proportions also make it an attractive decorative object when not in use.
