The organic shape of the seat contrasts beautifully with the clean cylindrical column and circular base, creating a sophisticated example of late-20th-century italian furniture design. Designed by philippe starck and produced by kartell in 1999, the eros was made with a transparent polycarbonate shell and offered with aluminum or chromed steel bases. This example is the central swivel aluminum-base version. The transparent shell gives the chair a visually light and almost floating appearance, while the polished aluminum pedestal provides a strong contemporary contrast. A distinctive piece for a private residence, dining area, office, dressing room, gallery or design-focused interior.
