Its open construction, organic contours and combination of natural rattan with industrial metal create a distinctive example of Czechoslovak Mid-Century Modern furniture design. The generously curved rattan shell provides both visual lightness and a comfortable seating position. The black metal base follows a simple geometric construction, creating a strong contrast with the warm natural tone of the woven rattan. The design is documented as an Alan Fuchs / ULUV model from the 1960s, with comparable examples described as part of the development of modern Czechoslovak rattan furniture.
