The rich, book-matched burl wood veneers on the drawer fronts and upper frieze are well-preserved, showcasing excellent depth, color, and grain definition with no obvious signs of lifting or chipping The structural frame, including the prominent cylindrical columns and concave lower shelf are stable and strong. The brass or bronze-mounted capitals and bases on the columns, along with the escutcheons and round drawer pulls, are completely intact and display a beautifully aged, authentic patina. While minor surface wear are to be expected with an authentic period piece of this age, the overall exterior finish maintains a warm, attractive luster. less
