The jar features a rounded, shouldered form with a fitted domed lid. The body is richly painted against a creamy white ground with a classic Chinese auspicious scene: a majestic peacock with a fully fanned tail, displaying its signature "eye" feathers in blue, green, and gold, standing beside a smaller bird on a rockery. The birds are surrounded by large peony blossoms in pink and yellow, delicate purple magnolia branches, bamboo leaves, and scattered grasses. The reverse side of the jar bears a four-line inscription in black calligraphy, likely a poem or descriptive text, accompanied by a small red seal mark, reading in part "孔雀名花" (Peacock and Famous Flowers) and "雨竹屏" (Rain Bamboo Screen), with a cyclical date mark "己亥年" (Jihai Year). The base bears a two-character underglaze blue mark reading "玩玉" (Wan Yu), a hallmark often found on 19th/20th-century scholar's objects and fine wares.
