A gorgeous hand-carved cinnabar lacquer rectangular box with domed lid. Intricate deep relief carvings depict a traditional Chinese figural story scene on the top, surrounded by scrolling floral and foliate patterns wrapping around all sides of the box. Finished in rich classic cinnabar red.
This decorative lidded box works wonderfully as a vanity trinket box, desk stationery / scholar’s box, keepsake container, or display piece for your curio shelf. A fine example of traditional Chinese lacquer art.
