The six spheres are polished and exhibit a strong, bright "cat's eye" banding effect (chatoyancy), each in a different vibrant color: blue, turquoise, orange-red, yellow, green, and deep red-brown. They are set into a custom-fitted tray lined with patterned golden-yellow silk brocade. The box itself is finished in a rich orange-yellow lacquer, decorated on the lid with a central roundel containing the inscription "乾隆御藏" (Qianlong Imperial Collection) and surrounded by colorful, scrolling auspicious motifs. The interior of the lid bears a paper label reading "大清宫廷御藏" (Qing Dynasty Imperial Court Collection) and is lined with a traditional dragon and cloud brocade. A metal clasp secures the lid. This is a highly decorative and unusual set, ideal for a collector of Asian antiques or gemstones.
