This is a striking pair of vintage Chinese gilt bronze vases, crafted from copper with high-relief decoration and gold gilding. Each vase features a flared, scalloped rim, a baluster body, and a spreading foot. The body is cast in high relief with a dynamic scene of a majestic dragon rising from turbulent, swirling waves, a classic Chinese motif symbolizing power, success, and the wish for "flourishing business" (生意兴隆). The dragon and wave motifs are highlighted in bright gold gilding, contrasting beautifully against the dark, patinated bronze ground. The neck is adorned with applied, gilded chilong (young dragon) handles and a central medallion bearing the character "福" (Fu, meaning fortune or blessing). Each vase bears a cast, four-character Qianlong seal mark on the underside of the base, indicating they are vintage revival pieces in the Qianlong style. A highly auspicious and decorative pair.

The bronze shows a natural, aged patina with wear to the gold gilding on the high points, revealing the dark copper base beneath. The high-relief decoration remains sharp and well-defined.
