A striking oversized vintage swag pendant featuring beautifully molded amber glass and elaborate antique brass-tone metal fittings.
At approximately 24 inches tall and 15 inches in diameter, this is a substantial statement fixture with considerably more presence than the smaller vintage swag lamps commonly found today. The sculptural amber glass has a rich honey-orange coloration that creates a beautiful warm glow when illuminated.
Inside the glass is a perforated metal diffuser surrounding the bulb, helping distribute the light through the amber glass while creating a wonderfully atmospheric effect.
The upper and lower portions of the fixture feature highly detailed cast-metal ornamentation with an aged brass-tone finish. A decorative pull chain with tassel operates the light from the bottom of the fixture.
The lamp retains approximately 12 feet of hanging chain/cord, providing flexibility for installation and making it especially suitable for rooms with high ceilings or locations where the fixture needs to swag away from the electrical source.
The amber glass is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks observed. The metal components retain their attractive aged finish and patina consistent with the fixture's vintage character.
No maker's mark has been identified. The fixture has intentionally not been disassembled simply to search for a manufacturer's mark in order to avoid unnecessary handling of the large vintage glass.
A beautiful statement light for a Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern, 1970s, eclectic, maximalist or retro interior.
