The Buddha is seated in the full lotus position (padmasana) with hands held in the Dhyana Mudra (meditation gesture). The head, chest, and hands are finished in a smooth, dark bronze patina, featuring a serene expression, downcast eyes, an ushnisha (cranial bump), and tightly coiled snail-shell hair. The flowing monastic robes are richly decorated with colorful cloisonné enamel, featuring a green ground with scrolling vine patterns and vibrant lotus, peony, and chrysanthemum blossoms in red, yellow, blue, and orange. The reverse side of the robes continues the intricate floral design. A rectangular inset seal mark is visible on the lower back of the robe. This is a substantial and highly decorative piece, ideal for a home altar or as a statement display object.
