Theatrical Utica Trunk
Authentic Late 19th-Century Dome-Top Steamer Trunk Camel back Trunk
• Style: The barrel-curved lid was intentionally designed for long-distance transit via steamships and trains. Baggae handlers were forced to place these trunks at the top of luggage piles, preventing flat-topped cargo from being stacked on top and crushing them.
• Materials: It features heavy iron-bound structural framing, a canvas or leather-wrapped body shell, and ornate metal corner bumpers designed to withstand rugged travel.
• Hardware: It retains its original heavy-duty iron latches, a central brass/cast-iron lock system, and patterned metallic valence banding along the seams.
