A sunset by Mary Veiga after Turner in oils on board. Matted in hand-painted linen. Custom-framed in a new Italian wood reverse scoop frame painted a brilliant gold. Striking color and light. Drama mama. Sourced from the artist’s collective.
Mary Veiga is a Maryland artist whose work begins with the enlightenment found in nature. Themes of inspiration with inner peace and belonging are intentional expressions throughout her work. The colors and light in this piece are terrific.
William Turner was an English Romantic painter and is regarded as one of the greatest British painters of the 19th century. His expressive renditions of light and atmosphere and bold use of colour in landscape painting inspired the early impressionists Monet and Pissarro.
Magnificent. Would pair very well with the other Mary Veiga in the shop.
