A moving sunset in oils on board, signed on recto, and newly-framed. The colors and light are lovely. Mary Veiga is a Maryland artist whose work begins with the enlightenment found in nature. Themes of inspiration with inner peace and belonging are intentional expressions throughout her work. The colors and light in this piece are terrific. Sourced directly from the artist.
William Turner was an English Romantic painter and is regarded as one of the greatest British painters of the 19th century. His expressive renditions of light and atmosphere and bold use of colour in landscape painting inspired the early impressionists Monet and Pissarro.
Framed in a bespoke Bryan Smith frame, hand-carved wood 3” round frame in 22k gold. Sourced directly from the maker and its own work of art. See the knotting on the wood on reverse.
Rare and magnificent. Would coordinate beautifully with the other Veiga after-Turner and the Miranda after-Turner in the shop.
