The artist utilized a highly skilled technique: first rendering the botanical studies in smooth, layered watercolors, then meticulously hand-cutting the individual blooms and stems. These elements were then strategically layered and elevated away from the background using hidden dimensional mounts. The result is a striking three-dimensional relief sculpture that casts soft, genuine shadows onto the soft-focus, sky-blue watercolor wash backdrop.

The artwork is housed in a classic, traditionally styled fluted gold-gilt frame. It features high-end double matting, layering a thin burgundy inner mat to perfectly pull out the rich deep tones of the iris petals against a wide, textured pale grey-lavender outer mat board.
