Vintage Willy Guhl / Eternit Diabolo Spindel Hourglass Planter, Switzerland
Iconic vintage hourglass-form planter in original red-painted Eternit fiber cement. Featuring the sculptural “Diabolo” / “Spindel” silhouette associated with mid-century Swiss design, this substantial piece has developed a beautiful, heavily weathered patina from years of outdoor use.
Original red finish remains throughout, with extensive natural paint loss revealing the pale gray fiber-cement surface beneath. Drainage hole at center. The aged surface, wear, and patina are entirely part of the character of this vintage example.
Approx. 32”H × 24”W × 24”D.
A striking architectural piece for a garden, patio, entryway, or modernist interior. Unrestored original condition.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with extensive original paint loss, surface wear, discoloration, and weathering consistent with age and outdoor use. No major structural damage observed.
Excellent patina
