Substantial 1980s vintage brass cachepot or jardinière featuring a deeply fluted body and gracefully scalloped upper rim.
The pronounced vertical ribbing creates a dramatic melon-form silhouette, while the gently flared and scalloped rim adds an elegant finishing detail. Years of natural aging have given the brass a wonderfully varied surface ranging from warm gold to deep bronze, with darker patination accentuating the recessed fluting.
The generous proportions and sculptural form make this an especially attractive decorative planter for a large houseplant, orchid arrangement or topiary. Equally striking displayed empty, it works beautifully as a standalone decorative vessel on a console, pedestal, hearth or tabletop.
