Two original Art Deco front covers of the Spanish magazine Blanco y Negro. The first cover is dated April 17, … Read more Two original Art Deco front covers of the Spanish magazine Blanco y Negro. The first cover is dated April 17, 1921 and illustrates a young woman dressed in black reading the magazine reclining on an Art Deco sofa in front of a circular paned window. A decorated vase rests on a tall pedestal behind her. Her feet are resting on a red tasseled cushion. The illustration measures 10" x 7 1/2" and is matted with museum matboard and lined. Overall mat size is 14 3/4" x 12". Unframed. The cover has several very small areas of color loss above the magazine title. Other than these tiny flaws the image is in very good condition.
The second cover is from 1933 and illustrates a determined, blond haired young woman in a red and white blouse holding a copy of Blanco y Negro and engaging the viewer. Her fingers holding the magazine are very well groomed with polished nails and a ring. Behind the woman is an Art Deco candle stick and a partial picture on the wall. The illustration measures 9 3/4" x 7 1/4" and
is matted with museum matboard and lined. Overall mat size is 14 3/4" x 12". The cover is in excellent condition. Unframed.
