The top is made from four planks of oak that measure 1 ¾'' thick. It has rounded corners, and is punctuated with stunning reminders of its utilitarian function: moments of scoring, staining, and scratching across the richly patinated surface. We can even see where additional wood was added to the table legs to increase its height. All throughout, the square wooden pegs used in its mortise and tenon construction are visible. The table 's simplistic design makes it versatile. Its height of 33'' suits it for use as a work surface or kitchen island while its lower shelf is perfect for open storage or for making displays. Regardless of its function, this table would be a unique addition to any space. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
