The chairs have a gently curving square back with vertical slats. The tapered front legs are made from spun mahogany with urn-shaped feet, which are in keeping with Regency design 's affinity for classical motifs. The lightly worn upholstery is secured around the chair legs with nails, which add a severity to the chairs that nicely contrasts the softness of their design. Two of the chairs are slightly different from the rest; their backs have 3 slats instead of 4, their wood is a bit lighter, and nailheads surround the entire seat. It is on one of these chairs that we can see the company 's name, H.O. Peers, stamped into the wood. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
