This is a finely cast vintage Chinese brass figure of a Qilin, a mythical beast, sourced from an old collection. The creature is depicted seated upright on a cylindrical column, with its front paws resting on the top and its tail curling around the side. It features a dragon-like head with horns, a scaly body, and an expressive face. The brass has a warm, gilded finish with a rich patina and areas of green oxidation, and the base bears a four-character seal mark. It is a substantial and well-crafted decorative piece.
