A vigorous original abstract painting by California artist Dick Marconi, dated 2008. Swirls of ocher, amber, violet, black, and white sweep toward a dark central point, with thick passages of pigment creating movement and texture across the surface. The composition can suggest an eruption, a cosmic event, or a landscape seen from above—an engaging piece that reveals different forms the longer one looks.

Signed at the lower right. The reverse is inscribed with a title that appears to read “Sig. Alert of Panda Express,” along with “Original Mixed Media by Dick Marconi” and the date 2008. Presented in a deeply ornamented gilt frame, whose traditional carving makes a striking pairing with the expressive painting.
