Mario Bellini's Le Bambole arrived in 1972 like a dare: what if a sofa were just a pillow, blown up to room scale, with the structure hidden entirely inside the softness? C&B Italia (soon to become B&B Italia) took the bet, and the result won the Compasso d'Oro in 1979 — Italy's highest design honor — for reducing seating to its most inviting, essential form.
This three-seat example carries that same soft-edged confidence in a striking chenille reupholstery, its rounded, pillowy volumes reading as sculpture as much as seating. It's a design built to be touched, not just looked at.
Sofa has been recovered so no tags are present. Imported direct from Italy
One available. Made in Italy, 1980s.
