This is an exquisite antique Chinese bronze figure of a Qilin (a mythical beast also known as a year beast), sourced from an old collection. The creature is finely cast, featuring a fearsome yet detailed face with bulging eyes, a single horn, and flowing mane. Its body is covered in meticulously rendered scales, and it sits in a seated posture atop an intricately carved lotus pedestal. The piece retains remnants of original gold gilding and red pigment, giving it a rich, warm patina with visible signs of age. The underside features a four-character seal mark.
