I was reflecting on the beauty and destruction of fire and decay in this season of Fall. My garden is full of so much life. One day a sunflower reaches for the sky and the next withers under the heat, dropping its seed in just the right places to be blanketed over again and prepared to create the next generation of life. The series, “L'Aiuola Bruciata (The Burnt Flower-Bed)”, takes on several meanings in looking at the elegance of beauty and the destruction of fire. In the philosophical, the political, and the intimately personal.

I am always looking at how items in nature rest together, in communication and resting alone. Evaluating the bend of a branch and the twist of a petal.
