The frieze is carved with bands of crosshatching to either side of a central flowerhead, over two doors with shaped fielded panels divided by a center panel of flowers rising from a fluted urn. Long pierced brass escutcheons and pin hinges on the doors, and one key remains. The scalloped apron is carved with leafy branches tied in a ribbon bow, and the case stands on short cabriole legs. Inside is a single shelf and the original lock. The walnut has mellowed to a rich, warm color. See less
